The background to Brizlincoat Somalis.

     In 1979 I began breeding Burmese, I suppose the most well known of them is Champion Brizlincoat Bilbo Baggins who was born in 1981 and is still going strong. In 1985 I went to a show and saw the most beautiful cat I found out that she was a blue Somali, the love affair began there and then. It wasn't until 1987 that I was able to purchase a Somali and then I bought four! Three of them were Patriarca breeding, Patriarca Bluriband, Patriarca Susudio one of the first sorrel silvers who is better known at home as Prilly.Prilly is now twelve years old and is a contented retired lady. Patriarca Sunset Ridge whose pet name is Redman is a usual now approaching fourteen years of age. he is still siring kittens and his latest baby Brizlincoat Never Saydi will hopefully be making his show debut later in the year. Another of the original somalis is Foxiluv Beata, Beattie to her friends, she is also twelve but has always been a lady of leisure as she has not had any kittens.

   At present we have five entire Somali boys, Redman who is not at public stud is the father of Brizlincoat Toddy a blue who has three IC's and hopefully he will be returning to the show bench later in the year. Toddy is a gentle lad who treats his visiting ladies with affection, he produces some lovely usuals among them his son Champion Brizlincoat Furst Edition. Furst Edition is called Eddie at home and has already produced some show winning blues. At ten years old Zorrito Blue Rodrigo, pet name Roddy, is our second most senior boy. Roddy is a blue silver and has produced numerous winners. We now have a son of Roddy who is Nainasus Aldea, we call him Mr. Many thanks to Sue and Ian Francis for letting us have this  personality plus cat, he is the baby of the boys and as yet not proven.

   At the moment we have five girls who are entire and have a litter of kittens each year.Oysterfleet Kute Karamanda is a usual siver who we call Candy, she is now six years old and among the many lovely kittens she has had is Eddie. Dalveen Classic Edition is a fawn known better as Lass, she too is six years old, she is a super mum who looks after her babies very well. Among her offspring is Premier Brizlincoat Othello and a winning blue kitten last year Brizlincoat Mae West. Brizlincoat Brillante known as Tina is now five years old, she does not believe in having big litters but definately believes it is quality not quantity that counts. Tina is the mother of Brizlincoat Starr Turn. Brizlincoat Blubell and Amaryllis are litter sisters and are now two years old, both have a litter at the moment with promising kittens which we hope will continue to fly the flag for us. We are expecting the arrival of a new kitten in the next few days from Sue Smith, Gweekelis Delilah Fudge, we aren't letting the boys know as they are sure to get excited but that may fade when they hear Delilah's her name!
